We recently had a competitor named Peblo (acquired by Wayflyer). Peblo is winding up as it has been deemed non-strategic for Wayflyer, who funded it’s £10m balance from their own balance sheet and cost Wayflyer £250K per month for it’s operations which were significantly inflated at the time whilst Wayflyer looks to find profit.
MONET is working with Peblo to inherit all of its UK and EU business, with interest in it’s US customers too. Aside from Peblo, there is no longer a sector specific true competitor, but there are players who are working on providing finance and payment tools to similar industries as above and below. Meaning there is a significant opportunity to build an industry specific financial platform to an agency economy growing at over 24% YoY.
